My mom actually pulled out a copy of this when I last visited her. I am a beginner, and she thought it would be something easy I could start with. Anyway, I have scanned the copy in to make a pdf file and can share with anyone who would like it. My e-mail address is cmv3@buffalo.edu.

The fisherman star afghan was in a kit and featured in NEEDLECRAFT Winter 1991 magazine. Does anyone have this filet crochet pattern. The pattern looks like a tulip shape in each of the four corners with a circle in the middle. I also have many crochet books if anyone is looking for some old patterns like crochet skirt and matching sweater, broomstick scarf, doilies.

I am delighted to have found others interested in Aran Afghan patterns. I would like to share information to get a free copy of the pattern I have been using. Go to priscillascrochet.net. Under free pattern index look for Aran Afghan. I hope you like it as much as I do. I have rec'd very positive comments on the pattern. I use Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn in wheat color. It takes 18 skeins but the result is wonderful.I use an 'N" hook.
I'd like to hear what others think of this pattern.

id love to find a way to get a copy of this pattern as well... thanks for any help anyone can offer.. i am willing to pay any expenses to get it.. the one i had orig came in a kit and i have since lost the instructions ... thank you

I recently discovered that Herrschner's Vintage Ripple afghan is virtually the same as their #5306 Fisherman's Ripple afghan. The only differences in the pattern is they've changed the size (was 45 x 62, now 33 x 56) from 15 points to 12, going from 9 sc instead of 8. They also did some re-wording so an inexperienced crocheter wouldn't notice the difference; however, when the afghan is worked, in one color, it is the exact same afghan, just smaller. The Vintage Ripple afghan also uses the exact same 2 oz. afghan yarn.

Hope this helps anyone looking for the old Herrschner's Fisherman Ripple.
