Hardy,
I have crocheted for over 65 years and have never learned this technique. It is something I have always wanted to do so I decided now was the time. My husband of 60 years and I recently downsized and moved to be closer to our children. Since then I have not had much time to crochet. So this is my treat to myself.
I started it today and am so excited. Thank you so much for doing the CAL. Can't wait to get to the next step.

Hi Evelyn,

If you have problems with the charts I recommand you take the free little hearts crochet along class first. There you will learn how to read the basic stitches. Then it will be easier for you to understand the bruges charts,

I find that ribbon B doesn't stretch nearly far enough to lie flat after it is finished. I've torn it out several times. You DO crochet the ribbon with double crochets do you not?

Hi Jan,

did you use the same hook? It's important to crochet all the dc's the same length. If your ribbon A is to loose and ribbon B to tight, then you will have a problem. Otherwise it will flatten out when crocheting ribbon C.

Hi
TY for the quick reply smiling smiley
I figured I would join then do ribbon C
As I do it,things are actually flattening out ,and now ribbon B seems ok.
My joins do need some fine tuning though, lol

I finished mine. I just about wore the thread out ripping it out and starting over in places. But finally got it. I was having the same problem with getting it flat. My gauge needs working on. If I crochet a pattern at different times I find my gauge changes. Have to watch that. I wish I could just sit and crochet all day. lol.
I also have to work on the joining, Kitty.
This ended up being a learning and practice one. Will do another later after I finish all of them.
We'll see how the next one turns out.
