Hi I just bought the above tablecloth pattern and I am having problems with it. I have taken it out twice and still cannot get it to come out even. Should I half the 547 stitches in the starting chain and place a stitch marker?? I have about three or four inches left before getting to the M on the graph. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please. I have never done a pattern where there is only half of it on the graph so I might be doing it wrong. I sure would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks
Brenda

Hello Brenda, I just bought it too and am trying to get it to make sense. I have only done one of this kind before and that is a long time ago. Hopefully someone can help us.

Thanks
Jeanette

Hi Jeanette,

I already answered Brenda directly. I copied the answer below. I hope, it will answer your questions as well.

Hi Brenda,

I am not sure if I understand the problem correctly. When you say it das not come out even, do you mean you don't understand how to read the pattern or you have problems with the correct number of chainsfor the foundation? If that is the problem, try to make the foundation chain with a seperate ball of thread. It's verry easy to misscount the numbers. So use one ball and make the ch 547. secure the last chain with a safety pin. Then start with another ball, attach the thread to the first cahin of the foundation and start with the chain 3 for the first dc. Then crochet row 1. In case you need more chains at the end, then just crochet a few more or it's easy to take some away. After you finished first row just finish of the foundation chain with a slip stitch and cut the thread, or just continue and work the rows for the other side. That will help with the problem of counting many hundreds of stitches.

If the problem is reading the chart, just make sure you start from the outside, crochet all the squares from the outside to the middle and then just read all the stitches from the middle back to the outside to complete each row.

I hope that helps. If not, please let m eknow more detailed what the problem is.

Hardy!
