Don't understand item on pattern

I am reading a pattern and I guess I am not understanding it, but it states.

BACK: CH 74 (901, 106)
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook *ch 5, skip 3 ch, sc in next ch; rep from* across turn-18(22,26) ch-5 lps
Row 2 (right Side) Ch 3, dc in first sc, sc in ch-5 lp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5lps*3dc in nex sc-group made, sc in next lp, ch 5, sc in next lp'; rep from *to last sc; 2 dc in last sc; turn.

I am not understanding the word lp(s), how are those made, mabye I am thinking to literal and that may not be what I need to do. I can't seem to find information on it on the internet.

Help. Thanks.

Hi Cynthia,
That means "loops" which are created in this case by chaining 5 before skipping 3 chains and doing a single crochet. Hope that's clear enough but please respond if it's not.
