Question for Hardy

Hardy,
I'm really enjoying this third crochet-along. I do have one request, however. None of the lessons actually has a picture of the doily on it and the one on the website is rather small. When we finish the last lesson could you put up a printout with the picture and the entire chart for us to print. It would be so much easier to keep it in a file for later.

Hi Susie,

Sorry it took me so long to answer. The webmaster has concerns about people copying the pattern and the large images. Its a shame we have to be concerned about these types of things, but many people think nothing of just copying and sending the patterns to their friends. If any one has any ideas on how to solve this, we're open to them.

I am new to filet crochet and this website. Where will I find the pattern for "Little Heart Doily"?

hi Hardy,

There are techniques out now where you can do things like not allow the person to copy your image. I believe there are Flash add-ons that pop-up your picture large enough to be seen but do not allow you to copy the image. At least I think it is Flash. Your web master should be familiar with these add-ons as lots of websites are using them.

You can also watermark your image.

I agree with being frustrated that the picture is so small. When following a pattern, it is really helpful to be able to go back and look at the picture to see if you got it right.

Hi Robin,

I am in the process to change all the patterns to pdf files. They will be sharper and a larger picture will come with the pattern as well,

hardy!
