Decreased stitches - A little behind

Since I do not have alot of time to crochet I am a bit behind. I am doing the decreasing stitches now. I just want to make sure that I have it right. When you get to the end where you are going to decrease, you do an incomplete dc and then you wind the yarn 3 times around the hook and place it in the end stitch and then yarn over and pull htrough two stitches each time until there are three left, yarn over and pull through all three. I hope that is right. It does make it look sort of awkward, that is why I was wondering?
Thanks.

Hi Kathy,

You are doing it right.

After you done with the incomplete dc, try not to move the hook too much. That will pull out the thread and you will end up with a big loop at the end.

When I make the dtr, I only work with the tip of the hook and pull the beginning of the dtr with my left hand a little to the side to get the right length without pulling the incompleate dc too long.

Hardy!
