Crochet-Along with Linen Center

Hi Everyone,
I would like to get your feedback on a new Crochet-Along I am planing to do in the future. I made several designs of Doilies with Linen Center. They are so beautiful. There is a Linen company, that produces mates you can crochet on, that means there are no sewing skills involved. The problem is, you can barely find them in any store and you can not order them as a single person from the company. I talked to them and they are willing to sell me the pieces. But that means, that
- I have to start the sign up in advanced, since I have to order the linen
- Each linen cost about $ 4 and I have to mail you the linen piece
- That will bring the cost for the Crochet-Along up to $10
I will put out some pictures soon, so you can see the finished piece. I was just wondering if you are interested in a Crochet-Along like that. I do have many designs of Doilies with linen center, where you have to sew in the linen as well. But this is a little more complicated.
So please let me know what you think about it?

Thanks Hardy!

I am definitely interested in the next Crochet-Along with the linen center. I was just thinking about trying out my local fabric store and seeing if they had linen that I could just cut and shape the size of the center that I wanted.

Hardy, could you let me know if that would work.

Sounds like fun, but I haven't been really interested in using linen or anything else, but who knows as much as I'm enjoying the crochet alongs I'll probably join this one too.

I agree with Karen. It does sound like fun, but I am a bit intimidated by it. Never worked with linen in this way before. I have enjoyed all the crochet alongs so far so I'll probably be joining this one too.

Hi Wendy,

Sorry it took me so long to answer. Of course you can go to your local store and buy some linen and cut and secure the linen. That works as well. I used to do that before. But I did not really like all the work and it's not easy. The new Linen pieces Zweigart produces are so beautiful. They are already secured and little holes made on the edge, so you can crochet right into the holes. There is no sewing involved at all, it's so easy and looks so need. I just love it. And you can get them in different sizes and shapes.
Just so you know. But your way will work as well. I will give you then the special instructions how to start without the linen. And them after you done with the crochet work you can sew in the linen.
