Curtain finishing

How do you recommend these be finished up once the crocheting is done? I usually iron them but just got a set of curtain stretchers out of my mom's garage. The problem with that is I have absolutely no idea how to stretch them.

I ask because 10+years ago I put a set of filet curtains up at a local showing of homemade items. The judge thought they were good but stated they should have been finished up using curtain stretchers rather than ironed out.

By the way I'm enjoying the swan lake class I'm taking.

Hi Elona,

You need to block your curtains. I always use a havy rug with a bed sheet on it for larger items. That makes the needles stick nicely. Then spray the curtain first with water and then with spray starch. Let it dry completely (over nigth) and the curtain will be in good shape. If you check out lesson 6 of the little hearts crochet along, there are detailed instructions on how to block.
