Where is everyone from on the crotchet-a-long?

I think it would be neat to see where everyone is from that is on the crotchet-a-long.

I am from Oklahoma and have crotcheted off and on for 15 years, but just basic stiches. Having fun learning something new. It is a little harder for me since I am left handed also.

Hi Janice, I'm from Minnesota but my husband is nagging me even as I sit here to move back to Ventura County, CA. We'll be there in a year or two, I"m sure.
I"m new to crochet ... still learning to handle the hook so I'm not anywhere near the work that is being taught but I do understand where the directions are taking me. It all makes sense, I just have to catch up on the technique.
I do all kinds of needlework and have always been stopped by the beauty of filet crochet and wanted to learn how to do it. Here we go!

Hi! I'm Mervel and am fairly new to this site, but I have crocheted for quite a few years. About a year ago, I bought a book of crochet patterns from an on-line catalog, and it had the most beautiful filet crochet designs I have ever seen. I normally don't pay attention to the designers' names, but I did look at the name on these patterns, and it was Hardy's. I had surveyed this site for a long time, then when I learned those patterns were Hardy's, I joined immediately.

I love the instructions, but I also like to go off on my own as far as thread and hook sizes. My favorites are number 10 thread and #10 hook. The finished product has a smooth finish with a lot of heft to it. But for designs that have a lot of open spaces, I go to size 20 thread, as it gives it a delicate, airy look.

Hi Janice,
My name is David and I'm a native Texan...Houston, 41 and counting backwards.. Been crocheting all my life, but never on the buddy system other than my Grandma. It's kind of neat to have input from other crocheters.

I finished lesson 3 this am...had a little bit of difficulty with the big square because I don't recall having used that before, but I'm confidant that once the project is finished and it's blocked it won't be so rounded at the top. Right now it looks like a slice of bread if you can get that image! LOL

Hi Everyone, I'm Dinah from Pickerington Ohio just east of Columbus. I've been crocheting on and off for a number of years. I love thread projects the best. Haven't mastered smaller than #10 thread counts yet. I tend to crochet to tight! :~(

I have always been fasinated with filet crochet but didn't have a clue where to start. Was sooooo happy to find this crochet a-long class. The directions are simple and very easy to follow along. I was able to read the chart after the first lesson.

Finished the 3rd lesson last night and can't wait until this evening to do lesson 4. As this is very new to me, I'm using #10 thread and #6 needle, so my project is larger than stated, but I love it. But that is normal for me to change things up.
