A Personal Note from the Designer, Hartmut Hass

Some of you may wonder why it got a bit quiet at Hass Design in the last year or so. We did not release many new patterns on our website. And many of you are still waiting for the long promised Bruges Crochet-Along.

Unfortunatelly I had to deal with some family issues. A little over a year ago, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After several operations and many diverse treatments, she passed away. I tried to support her as much as possible during her illness. So I made many trips to Germany to visit and help with everyday life, and the doctor and hospital visits. During that time I kept on designing and crocheted a lot. I made many new designs. Designing and Crocheting really helped me to cope with the situation. But unfortunately I was just not able to concentrate and work on the computer to draw the charts and write the instructions. I hope you understand.

Even though it still hurts thinking about my mother, especially during the holidays, I am ready to move on. My first priority will be to finish the Bruges Crochet-Along and some Bruges Crochet Instant-Print patterns. Everyone who joined our Crochet-Along club will be able to join in this Crochet-Along. So you don't have to sign up for it again. We will announce the dates soon. The new Crochet-Along will be presented as pdf files. So you can download the lessons to your computer. We are increasing the quality (sharpness) of the drawings. If that works out successfully, then over time we will convert all the existing patterns to pdf files as well. And then I will move on to publish the new designs I made during my mother's illness. So make sure you have your hooks and thread ready.

Thanks for your understanding,

Hardy
